Richard Daniel von Münchow

Richard Daniel von Münchow (* 1703 ; † June 18, 1757 near Kolin ) was a royal Prussian colonel, commander of Infantry Regiment No. 21 (pods) and previously of the Garrison Grenadier Battalion Magdeburg.

Life

In 1724 he entered Prussian service and went on to become an officer. In January 1744 he became a major in the Bredow Regiment. In January 1754 he became a lieutenant colonel and in 1756 a colonel. In 1745 he commanded a grenadier battalion in the battle of Kesselsdorf , which consisted of infantry regiments No. 21 and No. 44 .

He was wounded in the battles of Lobositz and Kolin . He died on June 18, 1757 from the injuries he had received in the latter battle. He was the recipient of the Pour le Mérite for his bravery in the battle of Lobositz.

He was married to one of Rössing's . She died in Halberstadt in January 1773 .
