Richard Dormer (born November 11, 1969 in Lisburn ) is a British actor .

life and career

Richard Dormer was born in Lisburn , Northern Ireland , where he grew up. He was later accepted to the Royal College of Art , but waived a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London . He has been an actor since 1991.

In 2003 he won the Stage Award for the play Hurricane , which he wrote, in which he also played the leading role. Since then he has been in plays a. a. by William Shakespeare , Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw . Dormer first appeared in film and television in minor supporting roles before taking on the lead role in Good Vibrations in 2012 . Since then he has also taken on major roles in television series. In 2013 he was seen in the role of Lord Beric Dondarrion in the hit series Game of Thrones . He took on the role of David Michael Scott , who already impersonated him in an episode of the first season. He returned for the role again between 2016 and 2019. Since 2015 he has played the main role of Dan Anderssen in the series Fortitude .

He is married to the director Rachel O'Riordan . You live in Belfast .
