Richard Dornbush (born August 27, 1991 in Corona , California ) is an American figure skater who starts in a single run .

Dornbush started ice skating at the age of six. He came through his three older sisters. He is trained by Tammy Gambill .

In the 2010/11 season, after winning the Blue Swords Cup in Dresden, he also won the Junior Grand Prix final in Beijing . At the US Seniors Championships in January 2011 in Greensboro , North Carolina , he surprisingly won the silver medal behind Ryan Bradley . In the short program he was still in seventh place, but won the freestyle and thereby improved by five places. He left established runners like Jeremy Abbott and Adam Rippon behind and secured his first participation in world championships . In Moscow , he finished ninth on his debut, making him the best American.
