Richard Christian Kähler (born June 2, 1951 in Hamburg ) is a German satirist , book and television author (including for Thomas Gottschalk and Olli Dittrich ), photographer, translator (including Monty Python's Flying Circus ) and musician.

Life

Richard Kähler first studied German literature and sociology. He also completed a photo assistant with the Hamburg advertising photographer Wimjan Rouendaal.

As a singer and guitarist, Kähler was a member of various school bands, then von Zwergenschule (1968–1971, 1986), Eye, Wolfsmond (member of the original line-up from 1976/1977), Rico & Lu (1978, duo with Wolfsmond frontman and ex - Rattle Lu Lafayette) and The Smarties (1989).

In the mid-1970s, Kähler founded the Mark & Bein magazine together with Hans-Werner Saalfeld . This still relatively low circulation and amateurishly produced magazine formed the cornerstone of the satirical journalistic activities of both and was virtually the “blueprint” initially for the KoLiBri column in the satirical magazine Titanic and from September 1987 for the Kowalski magazine . The duo Kähler / Saalfeld worked with authors and (comic) illustrators such as Bernd Pfarr , Walter Moers and Brösel .

Under the pseudonym Teddy Hecht, Kähler wrote the monthly column Teddy's Trends , which appeared in the Titanic from March 1983, after exactly 50 episodes, was continued almost seamlessly in the newly founded Kowalski (from September 1987) and ended in October 1991 with episode 100.
