Richard L. Anderson is a sound engineer .

Life

Anderson began his career in the early 1970s, making his film debut in the blaxploitation film The Final Countdown, starring Billy Dee Williams . In 1977 George Lucas ' science fiction film Star Wars was responsible for editing the sound effects . In 1982 he and Ben Burtt received the Special Achievement Award for the sound effects editing of Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark . In the following year he was for Poltergeist for the Oscar in the category sound editor Best nominated. Another nomination came in 1997 for Daylight . Anderson was nominated 12 times for the Golden Reel Award between 2000 and 2008 , but never won the regular award. In 2007 he received the Career Achievement Award from the Motion Picture Sound Editors.

In addition to his well over 100 feature films, Anderson occasionally also worked for television. He worked on a number of television films as well as two episodes of the television series Incredible Stories . In 1986 he was awarded the Primetime Emmy for this.
