Chaveignes is a French municipality with 552 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Chinon and the canton of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine (until 2015: canton of Richelieu ). The inhabitants are called Chaveignais .

Chaveignes is located about 16 kilometers south-southeast of Chinon . Neighboring municipalities of Chaveignes are Champigny-sur-Veude in the north and west, La Tour-Saint-Gelin in the northeast, Courcoué in the east, Braslou in the southeast, Braye-sous-Faye in the south and Richelieu in the west and southwest.
