Sonzay is a French commune with 1,387 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Chinon and the canton of Château-Renault (until 2015: canton of Neuillé-Pont-Pierre ). The inhabitants are called Sonzéens .

geography

Sonzay is about 21 kilometers northwest of Tours . Sonzay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Paterne-Racan in the north, Neuillé-Pont-Pierre in the east and northeast, Semblançay in the east and southeast, Pernay in the south and southeast, Ambillou in the south and Souvigné in the west.
