It belongs to the canton of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine (until 2015: canton of L'Île-Bouchard ) in the arrondissement of Chinon . The inhabitants are called Theneuillais .

geography

Theneuil is located about 37 kilometers south-southwest of Tours on the Vienne , which borders the municipality in the north. Theneuil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of L'Île-Bouchard in the north and north-west, Crouzilles in the north and north-east, Parçay-sur-Vienne in the east, Chezelles in the south, La Tour-Saint-Gelin in the south and south-west and Brizay in the west.
