Savigné-sur-Lathan is a French commune with 1,349 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Chinon and is part of the canton of Langeais (until 2015: canton of Château-la-Vallière ). The inhabitants are called Savignéens .

Savigné-sur-Lathan is located about 28 kilometers west-northwest of Tours on the Lathan . Savigné-sur-Lathan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Courcelles-de-Touraine in the north, Clère-les-Pins in the east, Avrillé-les-Ponceaux in the south and south-west, Hommes in the west and Channay-sur-Lathan in the north-west.

During the Middle Ages, the place was heavily fortified and belonged to the so-called Ville close de l'Anjou .
