L'Ile-Bouchard is a French commune with 1,553 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Chinon and the canton of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine . In 1947 the place Saint-Gilles-de-l'Île-Bouchard was incorporated. Since then, the municipality lies on both sides of the Vienne river , into which its tributary Manse flows here.

The Notre-Dame de la Prière church is a Marian shrine . The municipality is part of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park .
