Ligré is a French commune with 1,065 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Chinon and the canton of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine (until 2015: canton of Richelieu ). The inhabitants are called Ligréens .

Ligré is about eight kilometers south-southeast of Chinon . Neighboring municipalities of Ligré are Rivière in the north, Anché in the northeast, Lémeré in the east, Assay in the south, Marçay in the west and southwest and La Roche-Clermault in the west.
