Verneuil-le-Chateau is a French commune with a population of 126 (as at 1st January 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Chinon and the canton of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine (until 2015: canton of Richelieu ). The inhabitants are called Verneuiliens .

Verneuil-le-Château is about 40 kilometers south-southwest of Tours . Neighboring communities of Verneuil-le-Château are Chezelles in the north and north-west, Rilly-sur-Vienne in the east, Luzé in the south, Courcoué in the west and south-west.
