Assay is a French municipality with 166 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Chinon and the canton of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine (until 2015: canton of Richelieu ).

geography

Assay is about eight miles south-southeast of Chinon am Veude , which borders the community in the northeast. Neighboring communities of Assay are Ligré in the north, Lémeré in the northeast, Champigny-sur-Veude in the east, Pouant in the south, Ceaux-en-Loudun in the south and southwest and Marçay in the west.
