Richard Roeper (born October 27, 1959 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American journalist and film critic , best known for his collaboration with Roger Ebert .

Life

Roeper studied at Illinois State University and worked as a journalist for the Chicago Sun-Times since 1987 . In the 1990s, he also worked as a radio reporter for various stations in Chicago, and for his work he was awarded two Emmy Awards.

After Gene Siskel's death in 1999, Roeper became the new co-host of Roger Ebert in 2000. From 2006 to 2008 Roeper led the show, which is still called Ebert & Roeper , because Ebert was in very poor health.
