Richard Strange (born January 1951 in London ; real life Richard Harding ), also Kid Strange , is a British musician, songwriter, composer and actor.

Act

Richard Strange was the singer and guitarist of the protopunk band Doctors of Madness from 1975 to 1978 , which had a strong influence on cultural life in London. Among other things, the Doctors of Madness played as the opening act for bands such as the Sex Pistols , The Jam and Joy Division .

In the late 1970s, fifteen pieces of music were created in collaboration with TV Smith ; seven of them have been published on Strange's website under the title Raw Meet for the Missionaries since 2005 . Richard Strange can also be heard on Cast of Thousands , The Adverts' second album .

In 1980 Strange began a solo career with the album The Live Rise of Richard Strange , which was followed in 1981 by the album The Phenomenal Rise of Richard Strange . At the same time he founded the Cabaret Futura variety theater in the London borough of Soho , where he himself acted as an emcee and occasionally as an actor. The Cabaret Futura was reopened in 2010 after a 30-year hiatus.

Since the late 1980s, Richard Strange has been working increasingly as a film and television actor and has appeared in numerous well-known productions such as Mona Lisa , Batman , Robin Hood - King of Thieves , Gangs of New York , Inkheart and Harry Potter .

In 2003 Strange toured the UK as an actor, narrator, musician and writer with Protein Dance and The Banquet . From 2004 to 2006 Strange appeared alongside Marianne Faithfull in the musical The Black Rider in London, San Francisco, Sydney and Los Angeles.

In 2007, Richard Strange accepted Jarvis Cocker's invitation to the annual Meltdown Festival at London's Royal Festival Hall , where he performed melodies from the Walt Disney films based on an arrangement by Hal Willner .

Richard Strange is married to the artist Kelly Dearsley Strange and lives in London.
