Richard Webster (athlete)

Richard Webster ( Frederick Richard "Dick" Webster; born December 31, 1914 in St Albans , † September 28, 2009 ) was a British pole vaulter .

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he was sixth with the national record of 4.00 m.

The following year he won the International Student Games. In 1938 he was starting fourth for England at the British Empire Games in Sydney and seventh at the European Athletics Championships in Paris . At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 , he was eliminated in qualification.

He was English master outdoors three times (1936, 1939, 1948) and four times indoors (1935–1938).
