Richard Zöller

Richard Zöller (born October 19, 1905 Dorfprozelten, † December 13, 1961 Munich) was a German judge and editor of a legal commentary on the German civil procedure code .

Life

Zöller studied in Munich and joined the Catholic student association WKSt.V. Unitas Rheinpfalz. In 1932 he received his doctorate on the subject of church burial according to the Codex iuris canonici at the University of Würzburg and became a judge. He took part in World War II and was seriously injured. After the war he continued his career judge and was last Oberlandesgerichtsrat .

In 1938 he was co-editor of the 4th edition of the manual on the code of civil procedure ( Zöller ) founded by him in 1910, alongside the treasurer and judiciary Hans Meyer . The commentary, now in its 32nd edition (2018), is regarded as a classic commentary on the code of civil procedure.
