Richard van der Borght

Richard van der Borght , (born January 18, 1861 in Potsdam , † April 18, 1926 in Berlin ) was a German administrative lawyer, university professor and statistician.

Life

Van der Borght first studied theology and later political science in Halle . In 1884 he became the syndic of the Chamber of Commerce in Aachen , and in 1890 in Cologne . Between 1892 and 1900 he was the first full professor for economics and jurisprudence at the Technical University of Aachen . From 1898 to 1900 van der Borght was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives , from 1901 a secret government councilor and councilor in the Reich Office of the Interior . From May 1904 to 1912 he served as the successor to Leopold Wilhelmi as President of the Imperial Statistical Office in Berlin .

Van der Borght's main areas of work were statistical studies, transport science , insurance and questions of price development.

After his death he was buried in the Wilmersdorf cemetery in Berlin.
