Stefan Messner

Stefan Meßner (born December 13, 1964 in Eibiswald ) is a former Austrian football referee and now a referee observer .

Messner has been a referee at football matches since April 1, 1986, as a Bundesliga referee since July 1, 1994, and since 2001 as a FIFA referee, he has also been in charge of international matches. Since 2006 he has headed three UEFA Champions League matches, and thirteen times he whistled in the UEFA Cup . On July 26, 2009, he led the scandal game between Rapid Vienna and SV Mattersburg with 15  yellow cards and two yellow-red cards .

On December 6th, 2009 Stefan Messner led his last Bundesliga match in the pairing SK Austria Kärnten against LASK Linz.

Since the beginning of the 2010/11 championship, Stefan Meßner has been a referee observer in the Austrian Bundesliga.
