Riedel's estate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Riedelsche Gut is a listed four-sided farm in the Eckartsberg district of the Mittelherwigsdorf community in the Görlitz district . Since 2008, the Eckartsberg Village Museum has been set up in the property by the Heimatverein Eckartsberg eV .

location

The Riedelsche estate is located just north of Eckart mountain ( 299  m ) and has the address field street 7. It is one of the typical for the northern part of Eckartsberg, generous Vierseithof, dealing with larger distances outdoors in a prominent position on the left side above the Eckartsbachtal drag , and is the southernmost in the chain of formerly seven goods. The Feldstrasse rising from the locality of Eckartsberg leads through the building ensemble surrounded by fields and then turns to the northwest to the other estates. From the estate there is a wide view over Zittau to the Zittau , Jeschken and Jizera mountains .

investment

The core of the property is the four-sided courtyard with the residential building with cowshed on the northwest side and the store opposite ; the other side buildings are the courtyard barn and the horse and pig stables. To the east of it, separated by the field road, stands the massive field barn. To the south-west of the farm there is a cottage garden with a meadow orchard and a plant-based sewage treatment system. Beyond the field road is the house pond surrounded by tall trees. The old hoof structure has been preserved because, in contrast to the valley areas of the Eckartsbach, there was no house settlement from the height between the Eckartsberg and the Steinberg.

history

The oldest written mention of the farm was in the 16th century. There have been no major renovations since the beginning of the 20th century. After the Altmann family gave up the management of the farm around 1978, it began to decline. In 2006 the Landgut Eckartsberg GbR acquired the farm and began, from 2008 with the support of the newly founded Heimatverein Eckartsberg, with the renovation of the ensemble. For the renovation of the Ausgedingehaus, the Heimatverein was awarded the Environment House Prize 2009.

Eckartsberg Village Museum

The museum was set up by the Heimatverein in order to give the estate a use again and to preserve and present old farm objects from destruction. The exhibition, which opened in 2009, shows old agricultural technology in the barn. The chamber and the parlor of the Ausgedingehaus show former living conditions, a room on the upper floor is used for temporary exhibitions. Household items are presented in the stable building. The association was able to purchase all exhibits free of charge. The renovated stable of the residential stable house is used for events and temporary exhibitions; A courtyard coffee has been set up in the former living area, which is managed by the association during the museum's opening hours and during events. The village museum is open once a month from May to December - on the last Sunday.

In 2011 the art exhibition "Touched by Eckartsberg" was shown with works by the local artists Inge and Fred Wehle, Elke Noßky, Herrmann Baldauf and Werner Schlieben. In 2016, the Oberseifersdorfer artist Arno Röthig was honored with a special exhibition.
