Riedhausen bei Günzburg is a district of the city of Günzburg in the Swabian district of Günzburg . The parish village is located 8.5 kilometers north of Günzburg near the Württemberg border and in the middle of the wide Donaumooses .

history

The traces of a castle stable remind us that in the Middle Ages Riedhausen was the seat of a knightly family who named themselves after the place , but which gave up their ancestral castle in the 13th century.

In the 15th century, the sons of the patrician of Ulm, Hans Strölin the Elder , shared the property and local rule in Riedhausen. Because of the heavy debt burden as a result of the Thirty Years' War , the subjects in Riedhausen had been on a lease with the manor since 1675, which lasted until 1921.

The previously independent community of Riedhausen was incorporated into Günzburg on May 1, 1978 .
