Deffingen is a district of the city of Günzburg in the Swabian district of Günzburg . The parish village is located on Günztalterrasse , about two kilometers south-east of Günzburg, at the Günzburg junction of federal motorway 8 and federal highway 16 .

history

Deffingen was first mentioned in the 12th century as a property of the Lords of Tafingen. Their castle stood on the Schlossberg on the northern outskirts. All that remains of the complex is a flat, round hill with a moat.

Deffingen was bought by Heinrich von Roth zu Münsterhausen in 1550 to the city of Günzburg.

The previously independent municipality of Deffingen was incorporated into Günzburg on May 1, 1978 .
