The Riesberg is a 882 m NHN high mountain in the Bavarian Forest . It is located in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen , east of the city of Viechtach .
Geographical location
The mountain is located approx. 5 km east of the town of Viechtach. Characteristic is the steep south-east flank down into the Regental . The Weigelsberg follows north of the Riesberg . No hiking trail leads to the summit of the Riesberg. The Riesbauern-Hof is located north of the summit. There you can see the view towards Viechtach. The mountain is completely forested. The mountain can be reached via St. 2636, which is located southeast of the mountain. The closest place is with Schwibleinsberg, approx. 1 km south of the mountain.
