The Riesenbecker Berg is an elevation in the western Teutoburg Forest north of Riesenbeck .
Its greatest height is 134 m above sea level. NN . West of the Riesenbeck mountain lies the Bergeshöveder Berg , and the Huckberg, separated from the Mittelland Canal with the Gravenhorster Gorge . The Birgter Berg lies to the east of the Riesenbeck mountain . The Riesenbecker Berg forms together with the Birgter Berg, Lagerberg and Bergeshöveder Berg the Riesenbecker Osning. This division of the Teutoburg Forest is limited in the west by the already mentioned Gravenhorster gorge, in the east by a cut in the Dörenther Berg , through which the B 219 runs.
The “Schöne Aussicht” lookout point is located on the southern slope of the Riesenbeck mountain. At an altitude of 116 m above sea level. NN you can look into the Münsterland . The division of the Münsterland park landscape can be clearly seen from here . In good weather, the towers of the Münster churches and the university clinic can be seen. This lookout point was fortified in 1926 after an emigrant named this point on her last day in Riesenbeck many years earlier. The viewing platform, which was badly damaged by the fighting around Easter 1945, was later restored. The war cemeteries in Brumleytal on Birgter Berg and those on Dörenther Berg are witnesses to the fighting.
