The Rifugio 7º Alpini (pronounced: Rifugio Settimo Alpini ) is a managed refuge of the Belluno section of the Club Alpino Italiano in Veneto . The hut, which is usually open from mid-June to the end of September, offers 60 beds.

location

The refuge is located at 1502 m slm in the Belluno Dolomites National Park in the Schiara Group on the southern flank of the Schiara. It was built in the upper Valle dell'Ardo on the edge of the basin called Pis Pilón. The valley basin is dominated by Monte Schiara ( 2565  m ) in the west and Monte Pelf ( 2502  m ) in the east . The Dolomiten-Höhenweg 1 leads past the hut .

history

The rifugio was built between 1950 and 1951 at the instigation of the Belluno section of the CAI and the ANA Alpine Association and opened in September 1951. It is dedicated to the fallen of the 7th Alpini Regiment, which is based in Belluno. In 1952, the Regina Alpinorum chapel was built behind the hut and is dedicated to the climbers who died on the mountain. In 1969 the Bivacco Severino Lussato was built next to the Rifugio , which is named after the section president who died at the Tofana di Rozes and serves as a winter room. In the 1970s the rifugio was expanded.
