The Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi all'Oriondé (mostly Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi for short) is a refuge in the Aosta Valley in the Valais Alps . It is located at an altitude of 2802  m in the Valtournenche side valley near the Oriondé area within the municipality of Valtournenche . The hut is managed from the beginning of July to the end of September and during this time offers 40 mountaineers sleeping places.

history

The hut was built in 1920. It was dedicated to Luigi Amedeo di Savoia-Aosta .

Ascent

The entire route from the parking lot near Breuil-Cervinia to the Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi all'Oriondé , which is not difficult, takes about 2¼ hours.

The Croce Carrel ( 2920  m ) and Plan Maison ( 2548  m ) can be reached from the refuge .
