The Rifugio Guide Frachey is a refuge in the Aosta Valley in the Valais Alps . It is located at an altitude of 2072  m in the Val d'Ayas side valley near the Vallone della Forca within the municipality of Ayas . The hut is open from mid-June to mid-September and offers sleeping places for 40 mountaineers during this time.

The hut is located on both the Walser hiking trail and the Monte Rosa tour. It is also used as part of the Alta via della Val d'Aosta n.1 high- altitude hiking trail .

Ascent

The hut can be reached in 45 minutes from Saint-Jacques, a district of Ayas. Follow the signs to the Resy district.

history

The refuge as it looks today is part of the old village of Resy. Resy is an old Walser company .
