geography

course

The Rigiaa rises near the Rigi Staffel train station at around 1590  m above sea level. M. between Rigi Rotstock and Rigi Kulm.

It flows through the valley through which the Rigibahn travels from Goldau to the Rigi. In the valley it flows between Rigi and Rossberg through the villages of the municipality of Arth .

Your path leads first through Goldau, then to Oberarth , to Arth at about 414  m above sea level. M. to flow into Lake Zug .

Its 11 km long run ends about 1176 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of about 11 ‰.

Catchment area

The catchment area of the brook has a size of almost 18 km², with the highest point in the Rigi Kulm catchment area at almost 1800  m above sea level. M. lies. The mean height is 992  m above sea level. M. and the minimum height 413  m above sea level. M.

In addition to the Rigi, some slopes of the Rossberg are also drained from the Rigiaa via the Lorze, the Reuss and the Rhine to the North Sea.

The catchment area of the Rigiaa consists of 37.5% wooded area , 49.4% agricultural area , 9.9% settlement area , 0.7% water area and 2.5% unproductive areas.
