Rila Fukushima ( Japanese 福島 リ ラ , Fukushima Rira ; born January 9, 1980 in Tokyo , Japan ) is a Japanese model and actress .

Life

Fukushima was born on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu, but grew up in Tokyo . She was interested in fashion and supermodels from an early age.

She later applied to a modeling agency as an agent, but where she was suggested to work as a model. In the following years she modeled for campaigns by Dolce & Gabbana , Givenchy , Yves Saint Laurent , Gap Inc. , Chanel and Sephora . In 2004 she appeared in Lenny Kravitz 's music video Where are we running? on. In the same year she moved to New York City . In 2010 she returned to Japan to be closer to her ailing mother.

After roles in several short films, she appeared in the 2013 comic book adaptation of Wolverine: Way of the Warrior in the role of Yukio . In 2014 she took on the role of Tatsu Yamashiro / Katana in the television series Arrow .
