Ringhotels e. V. is a German hotel cooperation in the form of a registered association based in Munich . Under the Ringhotels brand, the association temporarily united up to 159 affiliated hotels as members, making it the largest German cooperation in the private hotel sector .

history

On January 25, 1973, on the initiative of Fritz Dreesen, Franz-Josef Frenzel and Jürgen J. Kahlcke, among others, the 98 members of three purchasing rings from Lower Saxony , Baden-Württemberg and Lower Bavaria joined forces to form a hotel cooperation and founded the Ringhotels association. In addition to the advantages of joint purchasing, the purpose was to use a joint brand to compensate for the competitive advantages of international hotel chains , which were increasingly pushing their way onto the German market. It was the second hotel partnership in Germany after the Romantikhotels (1972). The founding members included, for example, the hotels Zum Roten Bären and Rheinhotel Dreesen . In the following years, Ringhotels expanded to include up to 159 affiliated hotels with a group turnover of DM 495 million in 1999. On July 1, 2007, Susanne Weiß took over the position of Managing Director of Ringhotels.

In 2014, the shareholders' meeting decided to redesign the brand and realign the brand core to HeimatGenuss . This was presented at the International Tourism Exchange Berlin 2015. At the end of August 2017, Ringhotels merged with the French Hôtels de Charme et de Caractère, the Austrian Naturidyll Hotels, the Swedish Petit Hotels and the Danish Small Danish Hotels to form the Global Alliance of Private Hotels.

cooperation

Ringhotels is an open-themed hotel cooperation with a say in the legal form of an association registered in the Munich Register of Associations. Members are exclusively family businesses whose hotels meet specified standards. Each ring hotelier acquires a share in the association. In addition, an annual membership fee is charged, which is between 9,000 and 22,000 euros, depending on the number of rooms. All members have the right to vote in the general assembly, which makes all important decisions. A full-time board member has been appointed to manage the company .

For its members, the association takes on tasks in the areas of public relations, training, marketing and sales with its own employees. For this purpose, sales teams are maintained for the domestic and foreign market as well as a reservation center in Munich. In addition, framework agreements for purchasing are concluded, trade fair appearances, marketing and market research activities are carried out and customer loyalty programs such as the RinghotelsCard are organized.

Ringhotels is one of the oldest and, with up to 159 affiliated hotels, was also the largest private hotel cooperation in Germany until around 2010. As of 2017, 130 hotels were members according to their own information. Ringhotels can be found nationwide in all major German destinations and occasionally in neighboring countries. In order to protect competition, a certain distance is maintained in accordance with the statutes.

Ringhotels is a member of Private Hotels Europe (PHE) and the International Association of Parcelers (VPR) as well as part of the Global Alliance of Private Hotels. In addition, there are a number of collaborations with partner companies and permanent donation partnerships for Children's Aid Organ Transplantation (KiO) and the umbrella organization Clowns in Medicine and Care Germany.
