The Rio Amapari (German Amapari River ) is a Brazilian river that flows through the state of Amapá and passes the cities of Serra do Navio , Pedra Branca do Amapari and Serra do Navio. It rises in the southern part of French Guiana in the Serra Uassipein and flows into the Rio Amapá in the area of Porto Grande . There are two important waterfalls on its route: the Cachoeira do Tatu near the source and the Cachoeira do Veado in front of the town of Serra do Navio.

Saramaccans from the north had used the river in search of gold. Groups of the Wayãpi ( Waiãpi do Amapá ) still live on the upper reaches .

The water quality is affected by gold and iron ore mining in the Serra do Navio and Pedra Branca area, according to research by researchers from the Universidade Federal do Pará .
