Pedra Branca do Amapari , officially Portuguese Município de Pedra Branca do Amapari , or Amapari for short , is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Amapá . The population was estimated on July 1, 2019 at 16,502 inhabitants, who live on a municipality area of around 9622.3 km² and are called Pedrabrancanienses ( pedrabrancanienses ). It is ranked 9th out of 16 municipalities in the state. The distance to the capital Macapá is around 180 km.
geography
Surrounding communities are Oiapoque in the north, Serra do Navio in the east, Porto Grande in the southeast, Mazagão in the south and Laranjal do Jari in the west. It is located in the Tumucumaque National Park (Parque Nacional Montanhas do Tumucumaque).
The community has a tropical climate, Am according to the Köppen and Geiger climate classification . The average temperature is 26.5 ° C. The average rainfall is 2403 mm per year.
