reception

criticism

The German hip-hop magazine Juice rated Rise to Power with three and a half of a possible six "crowns." The album is described as a " coherent and, precisely because of the stylistic change, exciting document of an early phase in the career " of Rick Ross. The songs that were pre- recorded on Def Jam are very different from later pieces. For example, Ross' image as a drug dealer is not defined in his older songs. In addition, Rick Ross raps in a classic rhyme style and shows that he deliberately retains his lyrical content on his commercial publications. On Rise to Power, the rapper tends to emulate musicians like Kool G Rap . The guest posts and cuts by Jiggolo, which are included as bonus titles, received negative criticism. BLOW (Block Life Is Our Way) is the highlight of the album.

Charts

In contrast to his successful studio albums, Rise to Power reached number 62 on the Billboard 200 charts.
