Rishard Andre Matthews (* 12. October 1989 in Santa Ana , California ) is a former American American football poker players. He played on the position of wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins , the Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Matthews first attended Bakersfield College , then moved to the University of Nevada, Reno and played for their team, the Wolf Pack, from 2010 to 2011 successfully college football , running 2234 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns .

NFL

Miami Dolphins

In the 2012 NFL Draft , he was selected in the 7th round as a total of 227th by the Miami Dolphins . In his rookie season, he was used in eight games, but he didn't manage to touchdown. It wasn't until the 2013 season that he achieved his first two scores. In 2015 Matthews was finally able to establish himself as a starter , but he had to pass after eleven games due to a series of ribs fracture .

Tennessee Titans

On March 9, 2016, he signed a three-year contract with the Tennessee Titans . The following season was Matthews' best season with 945 yards and nine touchdowns.
At the end of September 2018, after only three games, he asked the club to terminate the contract because, in his opinion, he was not getting enough playing time. The Titans' management complied with his request.

New York Jets

On October 23, 2018, Matthews was signed by the New York Jets. After only five games, the season was already over for him due to injury.

New Orleans Saints

On June 13, 2019, Matthews was signed by the New Orleans Saints after convincing at a trial training session .
However, he was released in August.
Just two days later, he announced his retirement from active sports.
