Rita Durão
Rita Maria Bandeira Afonso Durão (born January 21, 1976 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese actress .
Career
At the secondary school in Carnaxide , she took part in the school's theater project. At the final performance at the Teatro Bairro Alto in Lisbon's Bairro Alto , her acting talent was noticed and she subsequently decided to become an actor. She made her first professional appearance in 1994 in O Triunfo do Inverno ("The Triumph of Winter") by Gil Vicente , again at the Teatro Bairro Alto and directed by Luís Miguel Cintra . Other theater roles followed, including in Marivaux's A Disputa (orig. " La Dispute "), staged by João Perry at the Teatro da Trindade . After that, her entry into film began with a role in Cinco Dias, Cinco Noites by José Fonseca e Costa . From then on she played frequently in theater (including Bertolt Brechts Baal and Heiner Müller's Anatomy Titus Fall of Rome ), but also in other movies. The film critics were positive about her convincing acting and her versatility. At the Berlinale 2000 she was awarded the "Shooting Star" award and in 2004 she received the award for best actress at the Curtas Vila do Conde film festival . She approached television rather hesitantly and most recently played in several television series.
