Rita Keitmann (* 1956 in Dortmund ) is a former German triathlete , first German winner on a long distance (1987) and first German Ironman winner (1988).

Career

Keitmann started triathlon in 1983. In 1987 she was the first German to win the Embrunman long distance competition in France .

Winner of the Ironman 1988

In 1988 she was the first German woman to win an Ironman at Ironman Europe in Roth , Franconia .

In 2005 she took part in the RAAM cycling marathon in the USA.

In 2008 she became European cross triathlon champion in the age group of women 50–54.

In 2011, she became German champion of the Masters over 400 meters freestyle - in 5: 45.36 minutes with a new age group record time in the AK55. She also became the German Masters champion in the 800 meter freestyle (11: 56.68 min).

Rita Keitmann starts for the two clubs SG Dortmund and Tri-Geckos Dortmund and is co-organizer of the Westphalia Triathlon . As the owner, Keitmann ran a triathlon shop in Dortmund with her brother Gerd Keitmann until 2017.
