Rita Volk (born September 3, 1990 in Tashkent , UsSSR as Margarita Volkovinskaya , Russian Маргарита Волковинская ) is an Uzbek- American actress . She is best known for her role as Amy in the series Faking It .

biography

Rita Volk was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, which was then part of the Soviet Union. She moved to San Francisco with her family when she was six . There she tried her hand as a model and starred in commercials and school performances. After high school, she studied psychology at Duke University . From 2012 she had guest appearances on the television series Rizzoli & Isles and Major Crimes . In 2013 she starred in The Hungover Games , a parody of the films The Hangover and The Hunger Games . She played Katnip Everlean in it, a reference to Katniss Everdeen .

In October 2013 MTV ordered the comedy series Faking It with Volk in a leading role. She played Amy, who pretends to be a lesbian and in a relationship with her best friend Karma ( Katie Stevens ). The premiere of the series on April 22, 2014 had around 1.2 million viewers and thus achieved values ​​similar to Awkward - My so-called life in the opening act.
