The River Bandon ( Irish Abhainn na Bandan , German possibly: "Goddess") is a river in County Cork in the southwest of the Republic of Ireland .

The River Bandon rises in the southern foothills of the Shehy Mountains in the west of County Cork, about 8 km west of Dunmanway , and flows for 72 km in an easterly direction to empty into the Celtic Sea at Kinsale . It flows through the towns of Dunmanway, Ballineen, Enniskean, Bandon and Innishannon. The funnel mouth , subject to the tides , stretches for about 15 km from Innishannon to Kinsale Harbor ( Cuan Chionn tSáile ).

The river is known for its excellent trout and salmon stocks.
