The River Lambourn is a watercourse in Berkshire , England . It arises in Upper Lambourn and flows in a southeast direction to its confluence with the River Kennet north of Newbury and south of Shaw .

In 1644, the second Battle of Newbury took place on a bridge over the River Lambourn between Speen and Donnington in the English Civil War .
