Negroamaro di Terra d'Otranto
The name Negroamaro di Terra d'Otranto stands for red and rosé wines from the southern Italian provinces of Brindisi , Lecce and Taranto in the Apulia region . The rosé wines are also developed as sparkling wines ( Frizzante ) and sparkling wines ( Spumante ). The red wines can also carry the “Riserva” label. The wines have had a protected designation of origin ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 2011 , the last update of which was published on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation is permitted within the provinces of Brindisi , Lecce and Taranto .

The Denomination Negroamaro di Terra d'Otranto DOC includes the following types of wine:
- Negroamaro di Terra d'Otranto Rosso and Negroamaro di Terra d'Otranto Rosso Riserva: must be made from at least 90% of the Negroamaro grape variety . A maximum of 10% other red grape varieties that are permitted in the “Salento-Arco Jonico-Salentino” production zone may be added.
- Negroamaro di Terra d'Otranto Rosato: (also as sparkling wine and frizzante) must be made from at least 90% of the Negroamaro grape variety . A maximum of 10% other red grape varieties that are permitted in the “Salento-Arco Jonico-Salentino” production zone may be added.
