Tavoliere delle Puglie
The name Tavoliere delle Puglie DOC or simply Tavoliere stands for red and rosé wines from the southern Italian provinces of Foggia and Barletta-Andria-Trani in the Apulia region . Some are marketed under the name "Riserva". The wines have had a protected designation of origin ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 2011 , the last update of which was published on March 7, 2014.
Growing area
The cultivation is within the municipalities of Lucera , Troia , Torremaggiore , San Severo , San Paolo di Civitate , Apricena , Foggia , Orsara di Puglia , Bovino , Ascoli Satriano , Orta Nova , Ordona , Stornara , Stornarella , Cerignola and Manfredonia in the province of Foggia as well allowed in the municipalities of Trinitapoli , San Ferdinando di Puglia and Barletta in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani .

The appellation Tavoliere delle Puglie DOC provides for the following types of wine:
- Tavoliere delle Puglie Rosso and Tavoliere delle Puglie Rosato: must be made from at least 65% of the grape variety Nero di Troia . A maximum of 35% other red grape varieties that are permitted in the "Capitanata" and "Murgia Centrale" production zones may be added individually or together.
- Tavoliere delle Puglie Nero di Troia , also called "Riserva": must be made from at least 90% of the grape variety Nero di Troia . A maximum of 10% other red grape varieties that are permitted in the “Capitanata” and “Murgia Centrale” production zones may be added individually or together.
