The Castel del Monte Rosso Riserva is a red wine from the southern Italian province of Barletta-Andria-Trani in the Apulia region . The wine has had a protected designation of origin ( Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita - DOCG) since 2011 , the last update of which was published on March 7, 2014.

The wine must be made from at least 65% Nero di Troia grape variety; A maximum of 35% other red grape varieties that are permitted in the "Murgia Centrale" production zone may be added (individually or together). The growing area is small. In 2017, only 3,873 hectoliters of DOCG wine were produced.

Cultivation is permitted in the municipality of Minervino Murge and in parts of the municipalities of Andria , Corato , Trani , Ruvo di Puglia , Terlizzi , Bitonto , Palo del Colle , Toritto and Binetto .
