The name Moscato di Trani stands for dessert and liqueur wines from the southern Italian municipality of Trani in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani in the Apulia region . The wines have had a protected designation of origin ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1974 , the last update of which was published on March 7, 2014.

Growing area

Cultivation is permitted within the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani in the municipalities of Trani , Bisceglie , Ruvo di Puglia , Corato , Andria , Canosa and Minervino Murge . In the metropolitan city of Bari , cultivation is possible in parts of the municipalities of Barletta , Terlizzi and Bitonto , as well as in parts of the municipality of Trinitapoli in the province of Foggia .
