Castel del Monte Nero di Troia Riserva
The Castel del Monte Nero di Troia Riserva is a red wine from the southern Italian province of Barletta-Andria-Trani in the Apulia region . The wine has had a protected designation of origin ( Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita - DOCG) since 2011 , the last update of which was published on March 7, 2014.

At least 90% of the wine must be made from Nero di Troia grapes; A maximum of 10% other red grape varieties that are permitted in the “Murgia Centrale” production zone may be added. The term "Riserva" requires a two-year maturation at the producer, of which at least one year in wooden barrels. The ripening period is counted from November 1st of the harvest year .
The growing area is small. In 2017, only 2,939 hl DOCG wine was produced.

Cultivation is permitted in the municipality of Minervino Murge and in parts of the municipalities of Andria , Corato , Trani , Ruvo di Puglia , Terlizzi , Bitonto , Palo del Colle , Toritto and Binetto .
