The Rivière Trenche is a left tributary of the Rivière Saint-Maurice in the Canadian province of Québec .
The Rivière Trenche has its source 90 km west of Roberval , located on Lac Saint-Jean , in the Laurentine Mountains . Initially, it flows through the small lakes Étang Gémil and Lac du Chapeau in a southerly direction and reaches Lake Trenche , at the outlet of which is the 1.5 m high and 53 m wide Barrage du Lac-Trenche , built in 1960 . The Rivière Trenche flows a piece in a south-southeast direction. The tributaries Rivière Trenche Sud flow into it from the right, as well as Rivière de la Tête à l'Ours , Rivière Trenche Est and Rivière Raimbault from the left. It now flows in a southerly direction and after a total of 150 km reaches the north bank of Lac Tourouvre , a reservoir on the Rivière Saint-Maurice.
