Rivignano (Furlanisch Rivignan ) is a place and was a municipality in the province of Udine . Rivignano is located in a south-westerly direction from the capital of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Udine and between the municipalities of Codroipo and the seaside resort of Lignano Sabbiadoro . The place is about 5 km from the main river of the region, the Tagliamento , and about 2 km from the small river Stella and is at an altitude of 30 mslm

Buildings

The small church of St. Mary of the Rosary , right by the cemetery , stands out because of the bell tower with a double-arched window in the middle of the facade, shows a portal, which is decorated with the bas-relief of the figure of the Madonna and Child , which is attributed to Giovanni Antonio Pilacorte . In the interior of the church there is the altar with the Madonna of the Rosary and Saints (1552), the work of Bernardino Blaceo , based on the model of the Triptych by Pordenone (1526), ​​kept in neighboring Varmo .

A portal, also made by the hand of Pilacorte , is in the Church of St. Jacob the Apostle, in the village of Ariis, where the 16th century Villa Ottelio also stands , overlooking the Stella River.

In Flambruzzo there is the 17th century Villa Codroipo , a three-storey building that is entered via a tower-reinforced bridge.

On January 1, 2014, Rivignano merged with the municipality of Teor to form the new municipality of Rivignano Teor . On December 31, 2013, the municipality had 4430 inhabitants on an area of ​​30 km². The factions Ariis, Flambruzzo, Sivigliano and Sella belonged to it. Neighboring communities were Bertiolo , Pocenia , Ronchis , Talmassons , Teor and Varmo .
