Bernhard Rosshoff
Bernhard Roßhoff (born July 11, 1908 in Hiesfeld , Dinslaken district , † January 11, 1986 in Sonsbeck ) was a German CDU politician .
education and profession
Bernhard Roßhoff was born as the sixth of ten children of the Catholic model carpenter Johann Heinrich Roßhoff in Hiesfeld on the Lower Rhine, today a district of Dinslaken. He graduated from elementary school and secondary school in Dinslaken. This was followed by a visit to the administration school. Roßhoff worked from 1925 to 1937 in the municipal administration of the city of Dinslaken and from 1937 to 1948 in the financial administration. From 1948 to 1969 he was the official director of the Lower Rhine community of Sonsbeck. From 1969 until his retirement in 1972 he worked as a community director in Sonsbeck.
politics
In his youth, Bernhard Roßhoff joined the Christian-social workers' movement and was a member of the Windthorstbund and the Center Party . In 1946 he was a co-founder of the CDU on the Lower Rhine. Bernhard Roßhoff had been a member of the board of the Sonsbeck local branch of the CDU since 1970. In 1974 he became a member of the board of the CDU district party in Wesel. From 1956 to 1964 he was a member of the Rhineland Regional Assembly in the Social and Cultural Committee. From 1958 to 1967 he was a member of the administrative committee of the Moers employment office and of the Wesel employment office from 1967 to 1972 .
Bernhard Roßhoff was directly elected member of the 7th and 8th Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 043 Moers III from July 26, 1970 to May 28, 1980 . He served on the Transport Committee and the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee.
Private
In addition to his professional and political activities, the Christian Bernhard Roßhoff was also culturally involved. Since his youth he had contact with Pastor Augustinus Winkelmann (1881–1954) in Marienthal ( Hamminkeln ), who encouraged young visual artists to be interested in sacred art. After the war, Bernhard Roßhoff was active for many years as a board member of the Xanten Cathedral Building Association for the restoration and restoration of the Xanten Cathedral . He was also very interested in the history of his adopted home Sonsbeck. This resulted in numerous publications on historical aspects of Sonsbeck and the surrounding communities.
