Robert Abbott
Robert Abbott (March 2, 1933 - February 20, 2018 ) was an American game designer .
Robert Abbott invented games from the age of 14. During his studies at the University of Colorado in 1956 he invented the card game Eleusis , which was made famous in 1959 by an article in Martin Gardner's Mathematical Games column in the June 1959 issue of the American science magazine Scientific American . In 1963 Abbott's book "Abbott's New Card Games" was published, in which he introduced seven other novel card games in addition to Eleusis. Abbott worked as a computer programmer in New York ; he lived in Florida since his retirement . He also made up puzzles, some of which could be found on his homepage.
