Robert Anthony Alleyne (born September 27, 1968 in Dudley ) is a former English football player .

Career

Alleyne received a professional contract with Leicester City in 1986 , but initially continued to play in the youth team before he was called up to the first team in early 1987 due to numerous injuries after only one reserve game. He made his debut as a substitute in a first division game against West Ham United (final score 1: 4) on New Year's Day 1987, two days later he was on the starting line-up for the club in a 6-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday, which rose at the end of the season Club off. In the FA Youth Cup of 1987, Alleyne reached the semi-finals with the youth team.

In October 1987 Alleyne was loaned to the fourth division AFC Wrexham for a few months and came to ten missions and two goals until his last use on New Year's Day 1988. In March 1988, the striker moved to third division Chesterfield FC for a fee of £ 10,000 , scored on his debut against York City (final score 2-1) and was subsequently part of the team under coach Kevin Randall when the club were successful towards the end of the season from the relegation ranks. Inconsistent performances and a coaching change in October 1988, when Paul Hart took over the coaching post, ensured that Alleyne played less and less in the 1988/89 season and left the club at the end of the season after a total of 44 competitive appearances (5 goals), Chesterfield had to descend third last.

He then moved to the Belgian club VV Tielt , which he could not easily leave after a year before the Bosman decision and therefore only got a license to play again in 1992. At the end of the 1991/92 season he played eight games for Telford United in the Football Conference , subsequently he was for Sutton Coldfield Town and Tamworth FC in the Southern League and in the 1994/95 season for Matlock Town in the Northern Premier League active.

Professionally, Alleyne initially worked in retail in Birmingham in the early 1990s , and later earned his living as a fitness trainer.
