Robert Beckmann (medical doctor)
Robert Beckmann (born April 22, 1919 in Rheine , Westphalia, † April 29, 2002 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German pediatrician .
Career
Beckmann received his doctorate in 1946. After his habilitation in 1958, he was appointed private lecturer at the University of Freiburg and there in 1963 as an adjunct professor . In 1967 he became senior physician at the Freiburg University Children's Clinic and in 1975 Medical Director of the Department of Pediatric Muscle Diseases . In 1989 he retired .
He initially dealt with questions of nutritional physiology in infants, later muscle diseases in childhood became the focus of his work.
